B.E.S.T. General Policies

Trial Classes

We offer a non-obligation trial class which allows you to pay for one class without a full session obligation.
To secure a trial select the trial class option.
The week you register for the Trial (in most cases) will be the week you trial.
Someone from the office WILL call you to let you know which class day and time.
You will be charged just $15 for the class.
Upon completing the class, if you choose to join us for the rest of the session PLEASE call the office as your spot is NOT secured.
PLEASE NOTE: Should you not show-up to the Trial class as time will reschedule based on availability.
Should the class not go as you feel it should have, and you would like to try one more time you will be able to do this at the discretion of the office.
A Trial is a ONE TIME occurrence.
All classes after this trial will be billed at $20 a class. Multiple Trial online requests will be adjusted to this charge automatically if multiple Trial payments are made in the same or consecutive sessions or multiple times in the same year.

Registration Process

Classes are scheduled on a first come, first serve basis.
Classes are not scheduled on a rollover basis. In other words, you are not automatically signed up for the next session.
To ensure your ideal time, please go on line to sign up early.
Please DO NOT notify your instructor to register as they are not equipped to provide adequate and up to date information. Please call the office directly.
Current students will get notified about next session enrollment (typically announced by the instructors and or e-mailed) of open enrollment for current students, followed immediately by open registration for new students.
Should you not be in class or receive the e-mail, please check with the office as to when you will be able to sign up for next session.
B.E.S.T. is not responsible for customers missing these announcements or Coaches not making these announcements.
Session dates are always posted online in the “Class Sessions” Tab or on the Calendar.
It is at the discretion of the customer to sign-up for B.E.S.T. classes and by paying, and signing up you are agreeing to and allowing us to check off the customer agreement at time of registration (whether online or over the phone). This states that you have agreed that you fully understand the General Policies and cannot claim ignorance of the rules with which B.E.S.T. programs govern itself by.

Class Scheduling & Changes Made By B.E.S.T. Staff

B.E.S.T. reserves the right to delay or cancel classes where enrollment is fewer than 3 children.
We will make every effort to enroll your child in another class should this occur.
Since classes that are less than three students will be subject to schedule changes, please have a second class choice time in mind.
Customers of classes cancelled by B.E.S.T. will receive a 100% refund otherwise we strictly adhere to our No Refund Policy.
B.E.S.T. at times will choose to hold classes with three children enrolled.
B.E.S.T. at no time promises or leads customers to believe that there will be full classes.
With three children B.E.S.T. has the option of keeping or canceling the class in order to maintain a fluid schedule for the coaches, facilities and the program.

Class Re-Scheduling & Limbo Email

If you register for a class and we call and email you about your class being cancelled you will be placed in a “Limbo” location on our registration system.
Your registration is fully and 100% refundable until the first day of the session you originally registered for.
Should we not hear back before the first day of your previously registered session you will NOT receive a refund, rather you will receive a full credit on your BEST Account.
Once a credit is issued a refund will not be issued for any reason.

Registration Fee

There is no registration fee at this time. If we do in the future include one the following rules will apply:
This is not a family registration or an annual registration.
This is charged per session no matter if you are enrolling for one class or a complete session.
This is on par with most if not all city program pricing.
This allows us to pay for administrative and facility usage fees.
There are no refunds or credits for this fee. This is not factored into any credits ever issued for refunds.

BOGO (Rules & Parameters)

This offer is a perk, not a privilege. B.E.S.T. offers this as a perk for our amazing Customers.
With your paid weekend (non-city) registration you can enjoy a FREE weekday class at our Scottsdale Facility for Free during the same session only.
This is based on availability and is NOT worth any cash value or credit worthy.
Should there be no class available or that meets with your needs this does not mean it is credited to your account or you have the ability to carry it over. This is linked to the session class you are paying for and again does not carry cash value.
This offer is being currently offered through the end of 2018.

Refunds & CC Charges

NO REFUNDS WILL BE GIVEN FOR ANY REASON. Once you have approved the transaction there are No Refunds.

Once we have reserved a spot for you in a class or camp, that spot is considered sold, and is no longer marketable no matter how many people are enrolled.
We understand that life events do happen which will cause you to miss classes so please refer to the Session or Class Cancellations policy for further information.
B.E.S.T. will adhere strictly to this policy of No Refunds no matter what situation you provide the office as the reason you are required to no longer participate.
CC CHARGES TO YOUR CC: Should you attend classes and not be registered, you give B.E.S.T. expressed permission to charge your cc for the number of classes remaining in the session at the full class price.
YOUR PRE-APPROVED CHARGES TO YOUR CC: There are a few items that we will charge your card for should they occur
If you are late for pick up from Camp or Parents Night Out you will be assessed $1 per minute after the first 5 minutes.
Your child who is supposed to be potty trained:

Should BEST be required to cancel a class due to low enrollment or any other circumstance, the monies will be returned in the same fashion of payment or by BEST check, whichever is more convenient for BEST. Should you pay by cc and click the do not save card information, you will be required to provide your card number again for refund processing.

Session Or Camp Cancellation By Customer

Please remember when reading this, NO REFUNDS WILL BE GIVEN FOR ANY REASON. Please see above Section “REFUNDS”.

CAMPS – NO REFUND or CREDITS. You can move your camp registration for a fee of $25 but no credit or refund will be given for camps.
You may cancel your session at anytime in order to receive a B.E.S.T. Credit to your B.E.S.T. account. This is not a credit card refund, this is a refund that goes on your B.E.S.T. Account.
Once payment is received via cash, credit card or money order any session cancellation request will result in a $25 “Cancellation Fee” off the number of classes you have remaining.
Only session fee is creditable.
The number of days you will be credited back is calculated by the cash value of the # of days remaining in the session not the number of days you have not participated, minus the $25 cancellation fee.
Your credit may only be used for the children within your family and is not transferable.
Should you challenge this policy with a chargeback from you cc company, this offer of a CREDIT is null and void and there will be no refund or credit of any kind given as our Policies are posted and agreed upon at the time of your registration with B.E.S.T.
Our policy has been created to provide an non prejudicial solution for customers needed to leave a session prior to the completion.
PNO and Drop and Shop are NOT Refundable or Creditable.

Behavioral Issues

Staff will redirect the camper to more appropriate behavior.
If inappropriate behavior continues, the camper will be reminded of behavior guidelines and camp rules discusses at the beginning of camp, and the camper will be asked to decide on action steps to correct his/her behavior.
If a child’s behavior still does not meet expectations and is affecting the experience of other campers, he/she will be referred to one of the Camp Directors.
If inappropriate behavior continues, as a final action step the camper may be dismissed from camp.
The Office Manager or Camp Director may also be called upon to work with entire groups who need additional support and behavior guidance.
Examples of unacceptable behavior:
Refusing to follow behavior guidelines or camp rules.
Using profanity, vulgarity or obscenity.
Stealing or damaging property (personal or camp property).
Refusal to participate in activities or cooperate with staff (campers do not have to participate in activities but they are encouraged to).
Disrupting a program.
Leaving a program room without permission.
Endangering the health and safety of children and/or staff.
Teasing, making fun or bullying of other campers or staff.
Fighting of any kind or ANY physical altercation with another camper or Staff.

Camper fees are non-refundable if a camper is sent home for disciplinary reasons. Physical violence or bullying toward another camper or staff member will result in immediate dismissal from the camp program.

Make-Up Classes

We understand at B.E.S.T. that there will be times that you will unable to attend a class due to life occurrences.
It is not necessary to call the office in advance to let the instructors know you cannot make a class.
Please call the office to schedule a make up class.
Please understand that scheduling make-up classes is at the discretion of B.E.S.T.
B.E.S.T. will try to provide the best class times and location alternatives that have space available.
We do not EVER guarantee nor insure that there is a facility close by or a class alternative for you to participate in.
It is on a first come first serve basis and we reserve the right to limit make-ups and or Trials to one person per class, per week. So please do not wait until the last week as we most likely will not be able to honor your request.
Make ups have no cash value and can not be applied towards future sessions or given to another member or non-member.
Classes not made up upon completion of the session are automatically forfeited and will not carry over into any subsequent sessions for any reason.
For Weather Related Make-Up Class Policy – SEE BELOW!

Weather Cancellations

B.E.S.T. isn’t able to control the weather and weather is a risk enrolling for an outdoor class you are willing to take, seeing that we are in CA and it is very rare.

Should there be a chance your location will be rained out please plan on the following:
Checking our website (weather tab) and calling our voicemail as when possible we will keep these as updated as possible.
Going down to the field to see if there are classes as our Coach will be there for the first set of classes providing the office with updates. They may also stay if the weather looks like it may clear up. PLEASE REFER TO CHECKING THE WEBSITE.
Add us to Twitter.com: Beginners Edge Sports or @BeginnersEdge as we send our updates there as well.
These classes will be subject to a make-up should you choose to make-up this time but unfortunately this can not be used as a class credit. This make-up must be made during the same session of enrollment unless it is the last week of the session whereas you will be able to schedule a make-up anytime after the first week of the next NEW session IF enrolled in that session.
If you are NOT enrolled in the next NEW session you can call AFTER the 2nd week of the session is over then we can try to schedule you based on availability on a first come first serve basis. We do hold the right to reserve and limit the number of makeups in a class. PLEASE do not just go to a class thinking there is room as you could be turned away. Please schedule through our office.
Please note, it is not B.E.S.T.’s responsibility to contact everyone about weather related issues since we have no ability to contact hundreds of participants due to changing weather conditions across the Valley.
We do sometimes create make-up classes as well at a Central location. Although not convenient for everyone, we find that many people do not come to make up classes and having one central location and a sign up sheet ensures that we will have attendance at these classes. The sport and the age groups are up to the discretion of the business so we do apologize in advance if the sport you missed is not being offered.

Payment/ Coupons/ Discounts/ Credits

Sessions must be paid for in advance in full. Cash, Money Orders, MasterCard or Visa is gladly accepted.
Checks will not be accepted for any reason.
Should you choose an incorrect price when registering online, or the amount get erroneously charged we can adjust your invoice without permission to the correct pricing as listed on our website.
Coupons/Discounts are not retro active and must be applied and mentioned at the time of registering for a class, party or activity. The only time this does not apply is when paying online and a session has already begun. In this case we will pro-rate as required for the number of classes participating in.
When using a Living Social or Group-on (as available), these must be applied by calling the office and registering over the phone during business hours of M-F 10-3. As long as a message is left during these business hours OR on or before the expiration date we will honor the price dictated by the Living Social or Group-On.
These discounts can NOT be combined with any other discounted pricing including early enrollment. These can only be applied against full price sessions. You may only use a Living Social or Group-on type discount 2 x’s over the lifetime with B.E.S.T.
Discounts and coupons are not applicable for Special Facility/Enrichment/School programs where special program pricing/contracts have been negotiated.
ACCOUNT CREDITS – Must be used by calling the office to register. Should you register online then realize you have a credit, B.E.S.T. can NOT and will not apply the credit afterwards. If issued a Class credit due to groupon or Living Social or other discount site these are only good for classes and do not carry monetary value to be applied for other purposes . Credits will NOT be applied once a registration is processed. It is NOT the Company’s responsibility to notify you of a credit on your account as we do not access your personal files when processing registrations/transactions.

Prorate Policy

Classes can be pro-rated for customers once the session is in progress but not before the first class of the session.
Pro-rated fees are calculated based on the number of classes remaining in the session NOT the # of classes a customer can attend.
Customers requesting a prorated fee based on the number of classes they can attend will be reminded of the make-up policy.
Example: You register and there are only 6 weeks left – you pay for the 6 weeks.
Example: You register and there are only 6 weeks left and you can only make 4 weeks – you will pay for the 6 weeks.

Instructor Requests

We understand that once your child finds an instructor with whom he or she is comfortable, you may want to continue with that instructor.

We will try our best to accommodate you with your request; however, we can not guarantee that you will be assigned the instructor that you request.
Because all of our teachers are excellent and bring along their personalities and skills we feel that it may benefit your child to take classes from a variety of instructors.

Instructor Substitutions & Absence

We schedule our instructors to avoid any unnecessary staff absences; however, at times an instructor may be unavoidably absent.

Should your instructor be absent, we will provide a competent substitute or provide you with a facility option close in proximity.
In the extreme case, when no substitute can be provided:
We will arrange a makeup class, issue a voucher worth the full value of the class, or find a location within 10-15 miles of the current location.
We at no time guarantee the same instructor all session long although we do work hard to maintain this continuity. Human resource management is the toughest job our Company has due to the part time nature of the positions.

Loyalty Program

In late 2015, we started a 10 Year Anniversary Loyalty Program. We think our customers are the BEST and we want to say thank you! With the B.E.S.T. Loyalty Program, you are provided you three levels of awesome savings. The more you enroll the higher the permanent savings.

All Credits placed on your B.E.S.T. account are NOT retro active and can be used on any future session.

Parents Role

As our classes and curriculum are based on age, there will be differences in the progress of your child versus the other children.

Please do not compare. Just as children learn to walk and talk at different rates, they will progress in B.E.S.T. programs at their own pace.
Praise even the smallest accomplishments.
Let your child know that you are proud of them. Positive reinforcement is always one of the greatest tools in any learning experience.
At B.E.S.T. we utilize a pull philosophy, rather than a push philosophy.
We feel it best to include them in activities they enjoy partaking in, rather than pushing them into an uncomfortable situation.

They are welcome to observe the class but for safety reasons, we may not allow these younger children to walk and crawl around the field and play with equipment on the same field as the class.

If you wish, you may ask the instructor for some equipment for the child to play with in another area where classes are not being conducted.

Older Siblings

They are welcome to watch but due to the focus and attention required in these classes we may not allow them to participate in the class in any manner.

This is also to prevent injury to the participation children.
Older children will be asked to leave the field should they be a distraction to the class.

Crying Child Or Sick Child

PLEASE READ ALL. Although children who do not stop crying will be asked to leave until they are ready to join us again.

There are many reasons why children cry; separation from parents, feeling out of control, afraid of a new situation, hunger, or tired. Each and every reason will go away with time and positive reinforcement, except for hunger and tired. Therefore, please pick times that do not directly conflict with your child’s nap time and please feed the hungry tummy prior to class. Each instructor can share many stories with you about reluctant, fearful or shy students that end up happy. Please remember, crying, fussing, non-participation is much more difficult for the parent than the child or the instructor.
If you should see your child is truly upset or crying non-stop, please feel free to come and join them on the field as long as you feel it be necessary.
If you can not stop your child from crying please exit the playing area as it makes it very difficult for the kids and Coach to focus.
Children who can not stop crying will be asked to leave.
SICK CHILDREN – Please keep your child home if they are sick. As a courtesy to our coaches and the other children in our program, we require that if your child has been sick they must be BOTH fever, and symptom free for a MINIMUM of 24 hours before attending any B.E.S.T. Programs.
Should they come to a program sick, or get sick during it, you will be asked to either take them home, or come pick them up and take them home right away, as they cannot be at the program. We are happy to work with parents on this, as we understand it is nearly impossible for kids to avoid getting sick at some point.
Should your child be sent home sick from Sports classes, you can call the office and we will schedule a make-up class for your child at the nearest availability.
Should your child be sent home sick from camp, we will credit your child’s account accordingly based off of their registration and participation to that point. You must provide a doctors note within 5 days of being sent home, and or not attending (From an AZ doctor) for credit to be issued.
